Lessons are $16 per ½ hour lesson. One lesson each week and you pay at the beginning of the month for the entire month.
Make up lessons are available if given ample notice of cancellation.

Sharon Marrell - Woodwinds
Sharon has a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from Bowling Green State University with a specialty in Woodwinds. She has been teaching for over 35 years. Her teaching method includes Incentives for the kids. They earn points by picking their best song or exercise and playing it well; tracking the amount of time practiced; fun sheets; and answering various music questions. Once they fill a sticker sheet they can pick a prize from the prize box (the whoopee cushion is a favorite!) This has been a very successful program that motivates the kids to practice and have fun playing.
Scott Tenney - Brass, Saxophone, Guitar
Mr. Tenney holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Kent State University. He is currently in his 31st year as Director of Instrumental Music at Trinity High School in Garfield Hts., Ohio. Mr. Tenney has studied with well known musicians including: James Kirk, Harry Herforth, Roberto Curnow and Carmine Caruso. In addition to his current position as trumpeter in the Brass Works Quintet, Mr. Tenney performs regularly at weddings and with the Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Project. Mr.Tenney is also a member of the Ohio Music Education Association, Music Educators National Conference and the Catholic Education Association.
John Thompson - Piano, Violin, Saxophone, Strings
John HC Thompson has been teaching music privately for ten years, most recently at west Cleveland landmark, DiFiore’s Music House, where he served as instructor of piano and woodwind studies. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition (MCL), as well as the adjunct degree in Jazz studies from the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music (2000), and a Master’s of Music degree in Composition from the Cleveland Institute of Music (2008), where he was awarded the Donald Erb prize for composers. He is also an alumnus of the Brevard Music Center Festival and the June-in-Buffalo Festival of Contemporary Music.
Currently Mr. Thompson serves as Artistic Director of the FiveOne experimental orchestra, a non-profit performance ensemble dedicated to the production of the avant-garde. He is also the on-staff composer for the Survair-AT production company.
James Roach - Guitar, electric/acoustic/bass; Ukulele; Banjo
James comes to us from DiFiore's Music where he has taught for over 20 years. He enjoys working with students of any age and even teaches one student who is 74 years old! He takes into account the interests of the student and teaches them accordingly. James includes note reading, tablature, and chords within his lessons.
James has studied technique, improvisation, composition and arranging and teaching methods at Russo's Conservatory. Additionally he has studied theory and harmony at Cuyahoga Community College. James has been lead guitarist for Rivera & Roach Band, Solid Gold, and The Katch.
Toby Packard - Percussion
Toby is very well known throughout the Cleveland area for his drumming techniques. Whether you play electronic or traditional drum set, Toby can teach you all the styles you need to know to lead the band!
Brian Hill - Piano
Classically trained, Brian shares his knowledge that is fun for children and makes it easy to learn. He continues his studies as a student at Cuyahoga Community College in Jazz Performance.
Lauren Owens - Voice
We now have a wonderful voice teacher who can assist you from the classics to pop! Lauren Owen is a graduate of Ashland Univ. with a Music Education degree. She is currently a substitute teacher at local area schools and is a member of Good Company, a Vocal Ensemble. She has recently performed under the direction of Cleveland's own, Robert Page (Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, and The Robert Page Singers.)
